BMS College of Engineering is an autonomous engineering college in Basvangudi, Bangalore, India. It also has Evening College (BMSECE), a non autonomous college, which comes under VTU. The engineering college, started in 1946 by BM Sreenivasiah, was one of the first private sector initiatives in technical education in India and is run by the BMS Educational Trust today. BMSCE has the largest student population among the colleges in Karnataka, drawing students from other states of India and abroad. One of the oldest colleges in Karnataka, it celebrated its “Diamond Jubilee” in 2006.
